Bwin Poker Room: Overview

Bwin Poker is a relatively new comer to the poker scene – featuring great software with excellent, clean looking graphics and catering for many different types of players. Traffic and bonuses may not be as good as the best poker rooms, but they sure make up for it in look and feel.

Review

Bwin Poker is supported by the online gaming and betting group Bwin, who have provided a trusted and reliable service in their industry. The software is excellent and if you are looking for a new experience this is definitely the place to play poker. A poker room to watch for the future and maybe you want to get in now to take advantage of their promotions.

The Bwin poker room offers good access to poker tournaments, but because their player base is still growing, there will not be as many players as the big well known poker sites. You can of course, use this to your advantage. All the popular versions of poker are offered – Texas Holdem, Omaha and Stud poker.

Good software that caters for all players, including Mac users.

Overview

Doylesroom-Poker is run by poker stars Doyle Brunson and Mike Caro. The traffic to the site is not very high but it offers many free rolls.

Review

Doylesroom-Poker is running on software created by Tribeca Tables. The software does include some nice functions such as a buddy list and live floor managers. Unfortunately the lobby does not show view flop percentages for the tables.

The variety at Doylesroom-Poker is quite poor as the site only offers Texas Hold’em and Omaha. The site is also has a shortage of high stakes games. However, the competition is rather soft as many players from other network partners are fairly new to poker.

Doylesroom-Poker offers frequent free rolls, usually five or six per day, with prize pools ranging from $200 to $2,500.

Overview

Gamingclub-Poker is known for its liberal bonus offerings and the site also has many tables with aggressive play.

Review

The software Gamingclub-Poker is using is a tailored, shared-network version of Prima Poker Network by Microgaming. The fact that the site shares its player network with other poker rooms ensures a high traffic of players. However, the software falls short of the industry standard. During peak hours some 3,500 real-money players try their luck at the tables. Note that there are many short-handed tables with five or six players. The competition at many of the tables is soft as Gamingclub-Poker offers some of the loosest games around.

The rake is less attractive than at other poker rooms. Low limit games, up to $1-$2 are capped at $1.50, while most other rooms take $1.

Overview

24hPoker has the highest traffic in the industry for five-card draw poker. Recently many sports betting customers have joined 24hPoker resulting in plenty of loose action.

Review

24hPoker is running on Java based software that has some extra functionality worth mentioning. Players have extra time to think when betting on big pots and also have seven seconds to re-buy after going all-in. The site attracts a big European crowd, ensuring that the tables are full when it’s evening in Europe.

Thanks to the recent addition of many sports betting customers many of the tables at 24hPoker see some very wild action. For Texas Hold’em tables view the flop percentages in the 60s are not uncommon.

24hPoker offers an interesting variety of games. In addition to the games seen at most poker rooms the site has Soko (Scandinavian Stud), 5-card draw, and Triple Draw Lowball.

Overview

Pokerroom is available both as a no-download version and a download version. The site also lets Mac users play without installing any additional software.

Review

Pokerroom is by many considered to have the best designed software. It comes both as a Java applet and as the standard Windows download. The Java version is especially popular among Mac and Linux users as they don’t need a Windows emulator to participate in the games. As for the poker, Pokerroom offers two daily $1,000 free rolls that draw a lot of traffic. The site focuses on Texas Hold’em but has added Omaha and Seven-Card Stud to its lineup.

Thanks to good positioning in search engines Pokerroom offers there are quite a few soft games available. Many of the Hold’em games have a view the flop percentage in the 50s and 60s.

It’s worth noting that Pokerroom is giving away a WSOP seat worth $13,500 in June 2005.

Overview

Pacificpoker is a fast growing poker room with plenty of games with loose and wild action.

Review

Pacificpoker has grown tremendously over the last twelve months. During peak playing hours up to 5,000 real-money players can be found on the site. There are plenty of loose, high-action tables. There is a good chance that Pacificpoker has the juiciest poker games on the Internet. There are a lot of inexperienced players at the tables and view flop percentages in the 50s and 60s are not uncommon. In Early 2005 Pacificpoker introduced no-limit and pot-limit cash games to its site. There are micro-limit games down to $0.05-$0.1. The rake is at par with the industry average.

Promotions are frequent and players can expect money added and free rolls.

Despite several attempts to improve it, Pacificpoker still has sub-standard software. Slowness and rudimentary graphics is, unfortunately, part of the Pacificpoker experience.

Overview

The tables at Interpoker are wild and loose and the site boasts a $90 monthly loyalty bonus.

Review

Interpoker is run by the second largest casino in the world, Inter Casino. It uses CryptoLogic software and network and shares its player base with a couple of other poker rooms, for example William Hill.

As far as traffic goes Interpoker has about 2,000 real-money players during peak hours.

The rake Interpoker is taking is somewhat bigger than the industry average. Interpoker takes 5 percent of every pot over $5.

The competition at the Interpoker tables is relatively soft. There are many inexperienced players trying their luck and view flop percentages are often in the 40s or 50s.

Interpoker has a monthly $90 re-load given to players as they first deposit money and then completes 450 real-money hands with raked hands. This is the highest loyalty bonus in the industry.

Ultimatebet-Poker is running on some of the best software in the industry. The design is very elegant and it gives a very smooth experience. Player traffic is close to industry average. During peak hours close to 3,000 real-money players can be found on UB.

Compared to other poker rooms, the games on UB are more competitive. Tables at the $0.5-$1 limit have view flop percentages in the mid 30s.

Overview

Pokerstars is the first choice for many advanced poker players, perhaps due to Poker tars’ excellent software and its wide variety of tournaments.

Review

Pokerstars has earned the reputation of being the industry leader when it comes to online tournaments. The site is second only to Partypoker when it comes to tournament traffic. You will see tournaments with up to 1,500 players, without it causing any problems for the software. Pokerstars also allows players to upload their own pictures at the tables.

Pokerstars also sees plenty of ring game traffic, with up to 4,000 players during peak hours. Note that Poker Stars started the trend with micro-limit games. The limits go as low as $0.01/$0.02. There is no rake on these games.

The competition at Pokerstars is very tough as the site attracts plenty of advanced poker players. It’s not uncommon to see view the flop percentages in the mid 20s and low 30s.

Overview

Partypoker generates more traffic than any other poker web site and is also famous for its promotions and its loyalty program.

Bonus code

Use code HDTP100 to get a 20% bonus on first deposit (up to $100 bonus) or use code HDTP25 to get a $25 fixed bonus on first deposit (minimum deposit $50). We recommend the HDTP100 code for players who intend to deposit more than $150. $5,000 free roll for all new players!

Review

The software Partypoker is using is of average quality. The program runs smoothly but the design is not very attractive. Unfortunately, Partypoker doesn’t provide statistics on how many players are seeing the flop in a room and information on hands-dealt-per hour is also missing. Game selection is important at Partypoker since there are so many weak players. Because the site is lacking important statistical information there’s no easy way of finding the really loose games.

During peak hours Partypoker has more than 50,000 active players. Most of them are playing Texas Hold’em. The limit in the fixed limit games vary from $0.50-$1 to $30-$60. There are also plenty of no-limit games with buy-ins ranging from $25 to $200.

In addition to Texas Hold’em, Partypoker also hosts plenty of other games including Omaha High, Omaha High-Low, Seven-Card Stud, and Seven-Card Stud High-Low.

On the lower limit games ($0.5-$1 and $1-$2) the rake is high, players pay 10 percent rake on $5 pots.

Partypoker is famous for its bonuses and promotions. Frequently the site has re-load deposit bonus campaigns and Partypoker also hosts plenty of free-rolls for loyal cash-game players.
